Personal, considered advice

A detail-focused approach to every build, upgrade and consultation.

About Benny

The studio is new. The experience behind it isn't.

For more than 15 years, Benny has been building and rebuilding road bikes, from complete component-led builds to servicing, customisation and modern road technology. That experience is combined with a practical understanding of how a bike should fit, perform and feel for the individual rider.

15+years of hands-on road-bike building and rebuilding experience
10+years helping riders resolve comfort, position and riding issues
Beyond the numbersfit-informed advice shaped by the rider, their movement and riding style

Bike fit is not simply a frame size or a set of measurements. What works for one rider may not work for another. Measurements provide a useful starting point, but practical observation, riding style, comfort and the issues experienced on the bike all matter. Every recommendation starts with the rider—sometimes the answer is a new build, and sometimes it is a considered position or component change to the bike you already own.

Bespoke bike builds

A complete bike,
considered as
one system.

A bespoke build gives you the freedom to choose what fits, performs and matters to you—without being restricted by a manufacturer’s standard specification.

Every component considered. Every build brought together around you.

What bespoke means here

Not simply the most expensive option.

It means starting with the rider, understanding the brief and selecting components that earn their place on the bike.

  • 01Frame and size selected around your fit and intended use.
  • 02Cockpit dimensions and contact points considered from the outset.
  • 03Gearing and wheel choice matched to your terrain and priorities.
  • 04Existing and new components sourced intelligently across compatible options.
  • 05Professional assembly, setup, handover and aftercare.

Fit-led consultation

Clear advice before expensive decisions.

A consultation brings the rider, intended use and component choices into one conversation. Start with a 30-minute video call or telephone consultation—you do not need to arrive with every answer.

We consider
  • Your current bike and riding experience
  • Goals, terrain, distance and priorities
  • Existing fit information and comfort concerns
  • Frame geometry and sizing considerations
  • Cockpit, crank, saddle, gearing, wheels and tyres
  • Budget allocation and sourcing options
Bring with you
  • Your current bike, where practical
  • Any previous fit report or measurements
  • Product shortlists or screenshots
  • Your cycling shoes and usual kit if agreed
  • Questions—technical or otherwise
How it starts

Choose a 30-minute video call or telephone conversation first. We will arrange a studio appointment when an in-person bike review is useful.

The build journey

From first conversation
to first ride.

A custom build should feel exciting, not complicated. The process is accountable enough to protect every detail and personal enough to adapt to you.

01

Discover

Tell us what you ride, what works, what does not and what you want the new bike to change.

02

Receive a proposed build with the reasoning behind every key choice and clear options where genuine trade-offs exist.

04

Approve

Confirm the specification, commercial terms and estimated timeline before any components are ordered.

05

Source & build

Compatible parts are sourced, checked and assembled with careful setup, tidy finishing and a documented quality check.

06

Handover

Your finished bike is set up for you, with its controls, maintenance points and component choices clearly explained.

Cycle to Work

Build a better bike through Cycle to Work.

A scheme may allow eligible employees to obtain a bike and equipment through salary sacrifice. Our aim is to make that process work for considered, fit-led builds—not only standard shop-floor bikes.

Availability depends on your employer’s scheme and Bike Studio by Benny’s active provider arrangements.

  1. 01Check your employer offers a scheme and confirm the available limit.
  2. 02Contact us before requesting a certificate or voucher.
  3. 03Agree an eligible bike specification and quotation.
  4. 04Follow your employer and scheme provider’s approval process.
  5. 05Build and handover begin once authorisation is confirmed.

Before you start

The bike price is not always the finished cost.

Road bikes can cost anywhere from around £3,000 to £14,000. The right answer depends on how you ride, what you need and what you already own—not a fixed package or one brand's range.

Consider the complete cost

A £10,000 bike may still need another 10–20% in changes.

A different stem, handlebar, crank length, saddle or gearing can quickly add up. A bespoke build makes those choices before you pay for parts that may need replacing.

10–20%typical saving opportunity through considered sourcing
Up to 40%potential saving with an eligible Cycle to Work arrangement
01

Honest advice

Sometimes the best answer is to improve your existing bike—not replace it.

02

Smarter sourcing

We source across brands and suppliers, including suitable existing, used or refurbished kit.

03

Clear fees

Advice, sourcing and building are shown as three separate parts of the service.

Savings depend on specification, availability and eligibility; they are not guaranteed.
